Scent has the power to change how a space feels.

KAIA began in a time when many of us were spending more time at home than ever before.

During the COVID lockdowns, I found myself searching for small ways to make everyday life feel calmer, more enjoyable, and a little more balanced. Lighting a candle quickly became one of those simple rituals that changed the entire mood of a space.

What started as curiosity turned into a creative outlet. I began experimenting with candle making and quickly realised something powerful, scent doesn’t just make a room smell good, it can completely transform how a space feels.

A fresh scent can help you focus.

A soft scent can help you unwind.

The right scent can turn an ordinary moment into a reset.

That realisation became the foundation for KAIA.

The name KAIA is deeply personal. It was inspired by my son Kai, and the name itself carries beautiful meanings across different cultures - pure in Scandinavian origin, and the sea in Hawaiian. Those meanings felt like the perfect reflection of what I wanted the brand to represent: simple, clean scents that bring a sense of calm into everyday life.

Every fragrance is thoughtfully chosen to help create the kind of environment we all need more of - spaces that help us focus, relax, reset, recharge, or simply unwind after a busy day.

Each product is hand-poured in small batches in Australia using high-quality fragrance oils, clean coco soy wax, and a design that complements any home.

Because creating a beautiful space shouldn’t be complicated or expensive.

At KAIA Fragrances, we believe that luxury and sustainability can go hand in hand. From the way we make our products to how we package and deliver them, we’re always looking for ways to tread more lightly on the planet, without compromising on quality or experience.

All of our products are lovingly hand-poured in small batches at our Gold Coast studio, allowing us to minimise waste and maintain exceptional craftsmanship. We’re proud to use recyclable materials wherever possible, and we’re always working to reduce single-use packaging across our range.

Here are some of the ways we support sustainability  

Production

Our small-batch, hand-poured candles use less energy and create less waste than mass-produced alternatives, allowing for greater quality control and a gentler impact on the environment. 

Minimalist packaging is designed to be as beautiful as it is responsible.  It is free from heavy printing to reduce waste and energy use, and fully recyclable to leave a lighter footprint without compromising on style.

Box filler used for transit is plastic free and made from fully recyclable paper.

Our branded tissue paper is fully recyclable and compostable.  

Recyclable Kraft paper tape is used to seal our mailing boxes rather than traditional sticky tape.

Reuse 

Reed Diffuser Refills

Our 200ml Refillable Diffuser Bottles are designed with sustainability in mind. Rather than discarding your entire diffuser, you can simply top it up with one of our recyclable glass refills and a fresh set of reeds. It’s a small switch that makes a big difference—less waste, less packaging, and more of the fragrance you love.

Candle Jars

We don’t recommend reusing our candle jars for new candles, due to the integrity of the glass, and potential safety hazard, after reheating more than once. However, there are still many creative ways to re-purpose your KAIA Fragrances jar. Simply clean the jar with warm, soapy water, remove any remaining wax, and let it dry completely. Then, transform it into a stylish new addition to your home.

Here are some ideas:

A perfect bathroom item, from make-up brushes, to a toothbrush holder or for cotton buds, the list really is endless.

Gorgeous pen holder for your office space.

Cute vase for small flowers.

Spare change or random item jar.
